When I first started Never Cry Werewolf, I was skeptical. Most of the reviews I read said the book wasn't very good and one even said it was so boring she couldn't finish it. I was actually really pleased to find out that I didn't agree with those reviewers and I really enjoyed the book. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. Shelby seemed to be a very likable character and one that I could find myself sympathizing with. When she got sent to brat camp it just got even more interesting. Especially when she met Austin. He was a really cute character with a bad boy edge but I felt like I didn't get to know him or his past, as much as I did with Shelby. The same goes with Ariel. I really wanted to know more about her and I wish her role had been bigger. She was just kind of a mystery to me.And then there was the plot. Short, sweet, and to the point. Austin is a werewolf and he needs to get his medicine or get away from camp before the full moon. That's basically the whole story with some personality growth thrown in. Even though the story was rather predictable, I thoroughly enjoyed it.Overall, Never Cry Werewolf was a very cute werewolf story. It's definitely no Shiver but it was still good. Also, the ending seemed a little open so I'm hoping for a sequel from Heather Davis in the future!
