Magic Under Glass

Magic Under Glass - Jaclyn Dolamore Magic Under Glass is Jaclyn Dolamore's debut novel and it does not disappoint, in any way. I was very pleased with the book and it was a super quick read that kept me entertained. It's not only that the books isn't very long, it's also just how good it is. It makes you want to read more.Nimira was swept away by the sophistication of Hollin Parry. She had no clue what she was truly getting herself into. He was hiding so many things from her that put her in a quite a bit of danger. Luckily, she also got to meet Erris, a lost fairy prince trapped inside the body of an automaton. It definitely made the book interesting and unique from other fairy books that I have read in the past. I guess it's really just a unique story, not just from other fairy books but from all books. The one thing that bugged me about Magic Under Glass was how easily everything fell into place. It seemed a little too perfect for me. I mean, Nimira fell in love with a robot without even being able to really talk to him. I don't think I would do that and it didn't seem very realistic. Then again, the book is set in a different age and world than the one we live it so it made it a little better.Other than that, I thought the book was wonderful. There was a good mix of characters and some good surprises. There wasn't really one character that I liked more than another and that's because they were all really complex. They weren't what they seemed and that makes for great books. =]Overall, Jaclyn Dolamore's debut novel is something to look out for. It's full of magic, suspense, and a love story unlike any I have read before. There was not a dull moment to be had in this book.
