Elizabeth Eulberg's sophomore novel is fantastic. Prom & Prejudice is a fabulous retelling of Pride & Prejudice. It is probably one of the cutest books I have read in a long time.Lizzie Bennett doesn't fit in with the rich girls at Longbourn Academy. First, she is a scholarship student. Second, she is nice. Now, not everyone is mean. Jane, for instance, Lizzie's roommate is wonderful. Sadly, she is the only one. When Jane's crush comes back from a semester in London, Jane really wants Lizzie to be friends with him. Charles is a great guy and Lizzie is more than happy to get to know him. It's his rude friend, Will Darcy, that she doesn't care for. Will Lizzie and Will work things out or will their prejudice ruin everything?Lizzie cracked me up. I loved everything about her. She didn't mope and she didn't dwell on things. The best part though was that she could see her own flaws and she tried to fix them. Will Darcy was a lot like her in the flaw department. I didn't feel like I could understand him at the beginning of the book but everything was eventually revealed and I loved him. Jane, Charlie, Lydia, and the others were good characters too but they didn't stick with me like the other two.Overall, Prom & Prejudice is a must-read for chick-lit fans. Elizabeth Eulberg is an astounding author and I am already dying for her next book. =]
