Bleeding Violet

Bleeding Violet - Dia Reeves Bleeding Violet is a very strange book. I can safely say that is is the weirdest book I have ever read. Of course, I mean that in the best possible way because the book rocked. It was so good!Hanna is new to Portero and she doesn't fit in but that's nothing new. Hanna is used to being a freak among normal people. What she isn't used to is being a freak among other freaks. Pretty soon Hanna finds out that she may be one of the most normal people in Portero. Hanna can't help but wonder, what makes the Porterenes so unusual?I am in love with Bleeding Violet. Everything about it stands out as unique in today's paranormal YA market. In a world inhabited by tons of teen vampire novels, Bleeding Violet will definitely take readers by surprise. The creatures in this book are so creepy and fantastical and unlike anything I have ever read about. I would love more books to be like this one!Dia Reeves' debut novel is wonderfully written and beautifully crafted. She incorporated such real issues as mental instability with amazingly unreal creatures and happenings. When I started the book I didn't expect to devour it as quickly as I did and I definitely didn't expect to love it so much!Overall, Bleeding Violet is a book that needs to be added to everyone's to-read lists if it isn't already there. I can't wait for more from debut novelist, Dia Reeves. Her name is going to be added to my list of debut novelists to watch out for and that list is quickly growing as I tackle the debut author challenge. =]
